On October 25, 1593, a Spanish soldier named Gil Perez assigned to a regiment in the Philippines was arrested in the Plaza Mayor of Mexico city. Perez said, at that time he walked to the palace garrison in Manila to report for guard duty after the assassination of His Excellency Don Gomez Perez Dasmarinas, Governor of the Philippines, suddenly he encountered men told him that he was in Mexico.
