The Kvamli massif has many caves, which are said to contain the treasures of ancient Georgian kings. Over the last century, some expeditions have investigated this. They have found nothing so far other than more caves and depths - only adding to the mystery.
It is a very inaccessible area, that has been well guarded throughout the centuries. The local villagers are cautious of the mountain. They say it can be dangerous, has a will of its own. The ancient name of the mountain is Khomli, which in the Georgian language means ‘Pleiades’ or ‘Seven Sisters’. Local tradition has it that a dragon lives inside the mountain. When it moves, rivers change course.
The most well-known story about Mount Khvamli is that the ancient giant (or Titan) Prometheus was chained to it for stealing fire from the gods. An eagle comes by every day to eat at his liver.
Prometheus, according to ancient mythology, created man out of clay. He then proceeded to steal fire and give it to the humans, thus enabling them to develop and establish civilizations.
Now are all of these things just mythology and folklore? There could well be more here. What if, in an ancient past, there was actually some kind of interstellar travel going on to and from the mountain? What if there was actually an extraterrestrial being that dared to create the human race and ran into trouble for it with his own kind? And did he or they ever leave? The signs could be there, and we could just not be reading them right.
