But evidence suggests that there were also other kinds of creatures, often looking like hybrids between humans and/or animals we know today. Images of such creatures can be found on many ancient monuments: think only of the Sphinx or bird-headed people in ancient reliefs.
A well-known case are the bones found in a large underground sarcophagus at Saqqara, Egypt. The archeologists who found them thought they belonged to the Apis bull, a legendary creature in ancient Egyptian mythology and religion. Others have disputed the Apis bull theory, since the bones were crushed and buried under asphalt, which is the opposite of everything the ancient Egyptians believed in. They buried all living creatures whole and mummified them, so that they could live on and continue to their next life. They believed that animals could communicate with the gods on behalf of humans. The creature(s) buried at Saqqara must have been terrifying, not welcome to ever live on Earth again.
Unfortunately, no DNA testing on such bones has been possible so far, so we are left guessing. But these creatures must have been special: a lot of effort was put into building the caves and sarcophagus. Advanced building techniques and hard materials were used, nearly impossible to achieve by humans in those days.
If such creatures were created by ancient aliens, what was their function? Were they just a variation of us, quite random in early experimental days? Or were they more specifically engineered? If so, were they meant to be powerful workers, while humans (like Enoch) were being educated more as successors or guardians? Or on the contrary, did they have superior abilities and roles? And why were they put away? Did humans bury them, or did the ancient aliens arrange this themselves?
